DermaScreen is a real-time PCR test for the reliable initial diagnosis of dermatophytes in skin, hair, and nail samples. In routine practice, most samples are either negative or show positive results for T. rubrum or T. interdigitale/T. mentagrophytes. Only five percent of samples require further differentiation.

With DermaScreen, 95% of samples can already be differentiated.  For rare or atypical dermatophytes, the DermaTyping real-time PCR test can be used as a supplement.
